Is New Year's Eve a great night or a let down?
I love it and always have a great time
Mostly good, sometimes not so good
I rarely enjoy New Year's Eve
I hate New Year's Eve

What do you think of New Year's Eve?

An overhyped, expensive celebration of an arbitrary moment in time?

A great night out with an amazing atmosphere where anything can happen?

Somewhere in between?

I'm fond of New Year's Eve, but only as it's my birthday - if it wasn't probably wouldn't enjoy it as much.

Guess I'm a little biased towards it.

Usually,i go out with my mates but this year, im too jet lagged to do anything. Finally, after 24 hours, two countries and the most upgraded security checks ever taking into consideration that, having some similarities like colour, height and age to the DELTA AIRLINES would be bomber didnt help matters........hahahahha lol. Thanks to (ALMOST) for warning me about the 25th bomb scare, up until then, the Tv in our chalet on the island hadn't been switched on,what he didn't tell me was that, he was black and sort of in the same age range.......lolAnyway good to be back home on English soil, happy new year to you guys.

Mumma I think my fate would have been sealed if i had a Moslem surname .The security at the Cayman Islands airport for flights to London heathrow and the United states was tight and heavy. The flight wasn't enjoyable even though i was in business and maybe its all in my head, but i did get a few funny looks.I figured out that all i had to do for the British Authorities to hand me over to the yankees was to start speaking like my father with a heavy African accent at immigration in London. It was quite funny watching my Ex who is white getting very agitated when i got any funny looks........LOL

At no other time of the year do people feel the need to go out and get arseholed...

But Newyear seems to be special...Why?

It's just another day... Another year...

Cosmic Questions...

I would never assume to suggest a mans colour should be taken into consideration. He was a would be bomber as far as I am concerned! There is a very dangerous possibility that if we class 20 to 30 something black males as prospective bombers, the white ones will walk in unheeded and cause severe loss of life and limb!

I have always said there is but one race THE HUMAN RACE!

The singing of Auld Lang Syne has always been the highlight of the New Year celebrations for me (unless snogging a fit guy, when one's thoughts would be naturally elsewhere). The lyric, "We'll drink a cup of kindness yet..." is particularly appropriate when signing off an old year and bringing in the new. Read the fascinating Wikepedia entry on the song and it's history, and hear different versions.

sorry outer, still hate it!

But each to their own, and agree with the kindness sentiments

I always find it  when  I see the Politicians singing it on the telly. After the good work they have done through out the year I find it the height of hypocrisy
