Gay guys cheating
Of course it isn’t only gay men who cheat. Exposure of footballer John Terry’s recent marital lapse has prompted many of us to ponder our infidelities. Just being men, we may argue, we have an inbuilt tendency to roam and be predatory, or to get bored and distracted. As gay men we’re confronted by a lot of adorable blokes on the scene and a massive industry promoting the enticements of a gay lifestyle everywhere we look. Even gay couples who have been together twenty years or more are highly likely to have had sexual encounters with other men during that time - they just failed to break them up.
A friend was saying to me the other day (he’s a regular shag of mine), that he knows his boyfriend sleeps around and he doesn’t mind (naturally), but he can’t understand why his partner denies it and refuses to talk about it. I think it’s a consequence of the way we’ve come over many years , seeking the right to express gay love and imagining ourselves in some ideal relationship similar to the biblical one of David and Jonathan. This somehow fed into our liking for the muscle-bound heroes of the great screen epics over the decades, like Steve Reeves (Hercules Unchained), Stephen Boyd (Ben Hur), and Brad Pitt (Troy). It doesn’t take much to translate that into images of brave, young soldiers fighting the forces of Islamo-fascism today, and dying to preserve the free world we are an essential part of. Captain’s log - Latest Mothership Updates, plus VAT frozen at the Mothership Store
Location change and email change now automated
Hot on the heels to the upgrade to Mothership Gay Dating’s SHOUT system, we’ve now automated the location change and email change facilities.
To change your location or email address simply follow the instructions under ‘Account Management’ on the Dashboard. Keep our email address up to date so you can receive Mothership’s regular enewsletters, as well as email alerts when you’re messaged, rated or crushed onboard.
Location change is a doddle now, which means you can even quickly change your location when you’re visiting another city for the weekend for example, as well as permanent moves. Better still, the behind the scenes functionality we’ve put in place to enable automated location changes means that we’re a big step closer to rolling out Mothership to other countries! SHOUT! on Mothership
Mothership Gay Dating has just had some big enhancements made to its SHOUT system.
Mothership’s SHOUT facility allows guys to broadcast a message simultaneously to all Mothership members who are currently on the Gay Forums or Who’s Onboard pages. The message appears in a scrolling ticker-tape format and allows a click through to the member’s profile.
In addition SHOUT also broadcasts messages about Mothership when the system is idle. We’ve updated SHOUT to bring you tons more benefits:
* SHOUTs now appear across the new Gay Forums, as well as Who’s Onboard
* Nearly all SHOUTS contain a profile or forum topic link for your convenience
* All shouts have a colour coding and an icon to denote what kind of SHOUT they are
SHOUTS are now made whenever: Read the rest of this entry »

Are gay men angry?
Is it me or do gay men have a lot of anger issues?
We’ve all heard the amusing expressions ‘drama queen’ and ‘hissy fit’ which surround gay men, and sometimes have an element of truth to them.
“Gay marriage? You wait till gay divorce!”
“I’ll make your best ever friend or worst ever enemy”
“Hell hath no fury like a gay man scorned!”
Well, I’ve been thinking about this subject quite a lot recently, as I’ve been dealing with quite a few anger issues of my own. Recognising, and starting to deal with, my own anger has helped me see it more and more amongst other gay guys. I’ve noticed a lot of anger on the Mothership gay forums recently (flaming), and in personal messages, and on TV, and when I’m in the shops, and in traffic, in fact all around me. But I especially notice it in gay men. Read the rest of this entry »
