I’ve spent the morning scouring gay forums to find out if most gay men cuddle after sex.

Guess what? Gay men love cuddling!  Again and again the message came through loud and clear: for gay men, cuddling after sex (and before) is a big hit!

“i’m a serial cuddler”

“cuddling before and after sex is the best. Especially after…”

“Sex is awesome, but I think cuddling is even better…”

“I’m a total cuddle whore!”

“I love to cuddle. I cuddle my friends, my lovers, my partner, anyone that I care about.”

Cuddling is a major hit for gay men

I could hardly find a single gay guy who didn’t like to cuddle another guy.  Many men referred to the intimacy of cuddling, and how it filled an emotional need and staved off loneliness.  Your hearts are open to each other, and holding each other feels really great.

Now we’ve established that cuddling is so popular with gay men, let’s take a look at a common cuddling problem: the trapped arm.

The problem with embracing another guy in bed is that the guy doing the holding is prone to getting a trapped arm, and all the discomfort and pins and needles that can lead to.  There are some positions you can take which avoid this and two in particular are pretty good: the Superman, and the chest cushion.

The Superman allows gay men to cuddle comfortably in the spooning position.  OK here’s the bit where you realise I am not an artist!  I hope you can get the drift from my stick man diagram.

Essentially the trick is to move the pillows down the bed slightly, then spoon your partner so that you are on your sides, rest one arm over him and the other push up under his pillow above his head, kind of in a Superman flying pose.  Costume is optional

Gay Men Cuddling: Chest Cushion

The chest cushion relies on the natural fleshiness of your pecs.  One guy lies flat on his back (let’s say it’s you).  Your partner curls in on his side toward you, and rests his head on your closest pec to him.  His head will be cradled between your shoulder and upper arm, and it allows your arm to embrace him comfortably, and he can rest his arm across you too.
