We’ve just created two new categories in the Mothership Gay Forums - Club 18-35 General and Club 18-35 Sex

The idea is to provide an area where our younger members can hang out when they would rather have the company of guys around their own age. Mothership’s age demographic has drifted upwards recently and of course there is nothing wrong with this, except that a gay dating site does need younger members to keep a buzz. Are gay men angry?

Is it me or do gay men have a lot of anger issues?

We’ve all heard the amusing expressions ‘drama queen’ and ‘hissy fit’ which surround gay men, and sometimes have an element of truth to them.

“Gay marriage? You wait till gay divorce!”

“I’ll make your best ever friend or worst ever enemy”

“Hell hath no fury like a gay man scorned!”

Well, I’ve been thinking about this subject quite a lot recently, as I’ve been dealing with quite a few anger issues of my own. Recognising, and starting to deal with, my own anger has helped me see it more and more amongst other gay guys. I’ve noticed a lot of anger on the Mothership gay forums recently (flaming), and in personal messages, and on TV, and when I’m in the shops, and in traffic, in fact all around me. Paedophilia is an issue whose social aspect today is as feared as the mythical snake-haired Medusa, with the same ability to turn reason and compassion to stone. It is overwhelmingly a heterosexual problem, though sometimes seen by the ill-informed as a gay one. Having said that, LGBT people may profitably reflect on the matter from their own special vantage point.
 
A little research shows how neglected the subject has been, relegated even in academic psychiatric publications to brief chapters, thus suggesting fears even on the part of the medical profession of being seen to take undue interest in a highly taboo topic. Read the rest of this entry »

Christmas drinks with Mothership Gay Dating

This Saturday 12 December come and meet your fellow Mothership Gay Dating crew members at the Two Brewers in Clapham from 9.30pm!

The Two Brewers is a busy gay venue with both two bars (a cabaret and a club bar), with live cabaret and best of all entry is free until 10pm - after that you’ll pay £5 so don’t be late!

It is easy to find on Clapham High Street and just a short walk from the nearest tube is Clapham Common, see map.

Our last Mothership Gay Dating meet in Blackpool was a huge hit, and our forums are buzzing with our hot members looking forward to getting together in real life.

The cabaret this Saturday is the acclaimed Kandi Kane.  Don’t forget, make sure you arrive before 10pm to avoid the £5 entry fee.
