SHOUT! on Mothership
Mothership Gay Dating has just had some big enhancements made to its SHOUT system.
Mothership’s SHOUT facility allows guys to broadcast a message simultaneously to all Mothership members who are currently on the Gay Forums or Who’s Onboard pages. The message appears in a scrolling ticker-tape format and allows a click through to the member’s profile.
In addition SHOUT also broadcasts messages about Mothership when the system is idle. We’ve updated SHOUT to bring you tons more benefits:
* SHOUTs now appear across the new Gay Forums, as well as Who’s Onboard
* Nearly all SHOUTS contain a profile or forum topic link for your convenience
* All shouts have a colour coding and an icon to denote what kind of SHOUT they are

Captain’s Log 29.12.09
Captain’s log is a periodic message to Mothership’s logged in members which is copied into the Mothership Blog
We’ve just created two new categories in the Mothership Gay Forums - Club 18-35 General and Club 18-35 Sex
The idea is to provide an area where our younger members can hang out when they would rather have the company of guys around their own age. Mothership’s age demographic has drifted upwards recently and of course there is nothing wrong with this, except that a gay dating site does need younger members to keep a buzz. Also, more younger members attract more guys of all ages, so ultimately everyone wins. Read the rest of this entry

Whilst we’re quiet during the traditional August lull it is a good time to look at what’s coming soon on Mothership
Mothership Blog Redesign
At the moment we’re doing quite a lot of work on the Mothership Blog.
If you’ve had a look at it recently you’ll see we have a new colour scheme and format - it looks crisper and more professional, plus it is easier to read too. We’ll be making further tweaks over the next few days.
The Blog is important to Mothership for a number of reasons - not only does it bring you a lot of information to do with all aspects of gay dating, but it helps recruit new members too!
We’ve included dedicated spaces for advertising - when we fill these the revenue generated helps Mothership to recruit more new members which are our lifeblood.
Mothership Gay Forums
The Motherboard messageboard has been with us for nearly 2 years now and has served us well. However, many of you may have noticed it has limitations - you have to log in separately to it in order to post, and it opens in its own window.
These drawbacks seem like small things, but they mean that many guys see the Motherboard as separate to Mothership, and don’t bother to post. Over the next couple of months we’re revamping the Mothership’s gay forums and integrating them properly into the site.
We have one or two tricks up our sleeve which should make the forums much more exciting to use.
Club Class Offer
For the month of September only we are introducing another Club Class offer - this time only on one year and two year memberships (which work out cheapest overall anyway!)
Our last Club Class special offer was very successful, so listen out for September’s offer which will be anounced in the next few days.

Now you can upgrade another Mothership Gay Dating member for 24 hours as a gift with one simple text message - or someone else could upgrade you! It costs just £1.50 and is a one-off payment - it doesn’t recur.
Some points:
* Your gift is anonymous unless you click the link which sends him an automated message telling him it was you!
* If he’s already in Club Class you’ll simply add another day to his existing subscription
