Replying to messages on gay dating sites

OK so you’ve checked out that cute guy with the tousled hair and cheeky smile - plucked up the courage to press ’send’ and wait for the reply.  And wait…and wait!  

Welcome to the world of gay dating!  What is it with online dating- does anyone ever reply to messages?  Well the answer is YES, but there is room for improvement. 

It is worth looking at what is happening behind the scenes.  Let’s take that cute guy with the cheeky grin you sent a message to just now.  Why didn’t he reply?  There are more reasons than you might think:

* He doesn’t fancy you.  So he should reply anyway out of politeness right?  Maybe.  However, some guys feel it is preferable to be let down gently with a ‘no reply’ than getting a rejection message.  If your site allows you to see if your message has been read then you can draw your own conclusions very easily.  Read the rest of this entry »
