Brad Pitt Talks About Love and Gay Marriage
Brad Pitt supports gay marriage
Brad Pitt has spoken about gay marriage and his thoughts if his kids turned out to be gay in this week’s issue of Parade magazine.
Speaking about his children Brad Pitt said:
“Would it bother me if a child of mine turns out to be gay? No, not one bit. Listen, I want my kids to live the lives they want to live. I want them to be fulfilled. I hope I teach my kids to be who they really are.”
Damn right Brad!
The sex symbol went on to talk about why he is not yet ready to marry Angelina Jolie:
“When someone asked me why Angie and I don’t get married, I replied, ‘Maybe we’ll get married when it’s legal for everyone else.”
“I believe everyone should have the same rights. They say gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I’ve had the privilege of seeing my gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment.”
This reinforces Pitt’s stance from a few years ago when he said that he wouldn’t marry Angelina Jolie until everyone had full access to marriage including gay and lesbian couples. Pitt has even contributed money to help the gay marriage cause in the States.
After describing Angelina Jolie as his soul mate, Brad Pitt also gave his thoughts on the meaning of true love:
“Do you know how you tell real love? It’s when someone else’s interest trumps your own. I like to put it that way: trumps your own. Love of somebody else--of family, of your kids--becomes the most important, most worthwhile thing in your life.”
However, Brad and Angelina have denied rumours that they are going through a rocky time together, so maybe it is no coincidence that Pitt talked so romantically about their relationship.
Pitt, who found fame in Thelma and Louise, is arguably the greatest sex symbol of our age. When asked ‘Who is your favourite actor?’, most gay men say ‘Brad Pitt’.

The Hollywood actor is also into architecture in a big way, and intriguingly was asked about a secret stone grotto behind the waterfall in his swimming pool! How kitsch! Anyway, apparantly it is
“a great place for sex”
Brad Pitt’s attitude toward gay people and gay rights is spot on, and we don’t doubt his sincerity in that regard. However, is that the ONLY reason he won’t marry Angelina? In our experience actions speak louder than words, and if they were going through a difficult patch they might not want to get married anyway.
